xMatters for iOS: Support for iOS 10 now available!

UPDATE (Oct 6, 2016):  The xMatters for iOS app version 2.14 is now available in the app store!

With developer and beta versions of Apple's highly anticipated iOS 10 operating system available, it's expected that iOS 10 will officially be released to the public this fall (September).

xMatters continues to provide products and innovations that use the latest technologies and follow the latest mobile app trends, and it's our plan for the xMatters mobile iOS app to support iOS 10 soon after it's released.

Support for iOS 10 also means that the xMatters iOS mobile app will no longer support iOS 8; we'll officially support iOS versions 9 and 10.  The existing version of the iOS app will continue to work with iOS 10.

  • Has this app been released to the app store?  What is the version number?

  • Hi Bob!  No, the version that supports iOS10 has not yet been released.  We are finalizing the release package and submitting to Apple for their review in the next 2-3 weeks.  The version of the xMatters iOS app will be 2.14.

  • I hope to see this soon.  I already have a user that installed iOS 10 on his phone, and is now experiencing issues.

  • Peter, I have iOS10 since Friday and have been using the xMatters app every day without any issues. Anything in particular that they are running into?

  • Hi Desi, the app is crashing a lot apparently.  The user has an iPhone 6S Plus.  He's going to try reinstalling the app to see if that resolves the issue.

  • I also have a 6s Plus with iOS10 and I haven't had any issues. I have been receiving alerts over the last few days, so no issues there. And I just opened every tab in the toolbar to verify each screen can load, and then drilled into a record in each screen. Could your user provide any specific detail about where they are seeing the issue and we can give it a try?

  • I'm on an iPhone 7 and use it for demos all day, so have received several notifications each day, and gone through all of the screens every day. So, I would agree, maybe have him reinstall and see is that helps first. If not, some exact steps on how the issue happens and what the issue looks like so we can try to repeat the steps, like Doug mentioned.

  • Hi, can you already communicate a final date for the App update, as I need to plan for the company internal app store update with the Supportteam?

    Thx Tom

  • Hi Tom!  We are finishing the final testing of the app and are planning to submit to Apple tomorrow (Friday) for their review and approval.  This process can take as little as 24hrs to few (3-4) days to complete. I will update this article once the app is available in the App Store.
