Can I change the text in the xMatters "INVALID RESPONSE" error messages?

When a recipient replies to a notification incorrectly, xMatters returns an error message; is there a way to edit the content of those error messages?

If a recipient responds to a notification without including the original message, xMatters returns the following error message:

The reply received is missing key information for processing. When replying to an email, please reply to the orginal message and include the text of the original email.

You can change this message to say whatever you want.

To change the error message:

  1. On the xMatters server, locate the <xMHOME>\node\assets\resources\ui\user_strings.properties file and open it in a text editor.
  2. Within the file, locate the following lines:
INVALID_RESPONSE_UNIDENTIFIABLE_MSG=The reply received is missing key information for processing. When replying to an email, please reply to the orginal message and include the text of the original email.
INVALID_RESPONSE_UNIDENTIFIABLE_SUBJECT=AlarmPoint Invalid Response
  1. Edit the text following the equals sign (=) to the message you want to send when a recipient replies incorrectly.
  2. Save and close the file.
