xMatters node does not start after removing Dialogic hardware

Issue details

An issue was identified on xMatters 4.1 systems where removing the Dialogic card from a functioning deployment would cause the node to fail to restart. This is due to certain dependencies that exist on Dialogic-equipped deployments: the Dialogic card becomes a dependency for the node service, which will not start if the card is not present.

Solution

To resolve this issue, execute the following command PRIOR to starting the node service:

    sc config "xMatters Node" depend=""

Note that this command does not remove the dependency permanently. If the node has to be stopped or restarted again for any reason, you will have to run the command again, before starting the node manually.
