When do device delays apply?


A user has the following device settings listed in their profile:

  1. Work phone
  2. SMS
    • wait 5 minutes
  3. Email

The work phone and email are members of a group called "Sev 1", while the SMS device is not. When an event affecting the Sev 1 group triggers a notification, the user's work phone and email are notified simultaneously. If at least one device in the profile is targeted by a notification why isn't the 5 minute delay observed?

Device delays are set in the user profile and only apply when the user is targeted by a notification. When a device is added as a group member and targeted directly, the user's device settings are ignored and the notification is sent immediately to the device.
