Removing a property from a workflow form

Question 

When I try to remove a property from the form layout, I keep getting an error message advising that the property cannot be deleted because it is being used in a message. Is it possible to remove a property from the form layout?

All versions of xMatters

Answer

Yes, however the property needs to be removed from all messages in the form, including:

  • Email / fax / push message
  • Text message / pager / generic
  • Voice interaction

If the property exists in any of the messages above, the system will return the "property cannot be deleted because it is being used in a message" error.

In the example below, the property that needs to be removed from the form layout is "Incident Type". To do this, it must be removed from the voice interaction message, by clicking X
