  • Is this the add-on in question?

    https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1216077/xmatters-actionable-it-alerts-for-jira?hosting=server&tab=overview

It seems to say it is for Jira Server 7.2.0 - 8.3.5, but I don't have a Jira Server instance to follow the steps to search for it from the admin console.

  • Oh yeah, that's the one.   I don't know whether the compatibility version has been updated yet but I managed to get it installed on the latest version of Jira recently.   I might have had to download it and do it on the server manually, I can't remember.

  • We're running Jira 8.5.1 which is why the xMatters add-on isn't showing up.

Curiously, the Marketplace entry for the add-on has a Documentation link that I'm apparently not allowed to look at:

  • That is curious,  I'm also not allowed to look at that so I wonder if that's just old and been removed.

You've probably already seen this:- https://help.xmatters.com/integrations/itmgmt/jira-server.htm?cshid=JIRA_SERVER    ?     That's basically the bible for that integration anyway.

Yeah, I think I had that version issue too.   I'm pretty sure I just downloaded the integration from that marketplace page,  installed it direct on the server and it worked fine.

  • "That's basically the bible for that integration anyway." ... yes, that's where I came across the reference to the add-on to be installed on Jira Server.

I don't think I *need* it ... I'm more flagging up that things need some TLC ... either the Jira add-on needs to be updated for compatibility with more recent Jira versions or the documentation needs to remove reference to that add-on.

"I'm also not allowed to look at that so I wonder if that's just old and been removed." ... and this might suggest that the Jira add-on is actually no longer supported so, again, the documentation needs to remove references to it.

Otherwise it all gets confusing for xMatters newcomers like myself.

It is just as bad when you search xMatters Support and it returns results that then go to 404. Just frustrating, really.

  • Yeah,  I completely agree Philip!   I will raise this now and see if we can get some changes to the integration.  Thank you for point these things out.   You may be new but you're already adding value   :D
