Enhancement request: Provide a "clear, reset or multi-select (all) delete" option in the message form's recipient section.
Use-case / problem statement: In a mass BCM notification event, including 100's or 1k's of recipients, you may need to expand the targeted groups/teams to review and refine the list of recipients, deleting some recipients, before sending. Once the message is sent, you need to repeat the same event message for additional recipients that were either missed or other groups that should be monitored separately.
Using the "Duplicate" function to save time and avoid mistakes brings forward the entire set of expanded recipients. The only way to reset the recipients is to manually "X" delete each recipient, one at a time. This becomes unmanageable and requires the ER Team to compose a new message from scratch.

Hi Jens, thanks for sending that to us!
Your request seems sound, I don't see why we can't have a reset button on the recipients field so that it is the only field which you need to populate basing on an existing event message form.
Most users do not use the expand group feature as contacting groups might be one of the better ways to retain readability on the recipients while still contacting a large expanse of users. We do have ability to ignore duplicate notifications which takes out the necessity to explode those groups and remove users that are redundant.
Can you expand more on why you need to remove some people from a group? Would a dynamic team be something you could leverage for certain types of notifications? I'm asking to see if there may be a better way you can utilize the product to achieve the same goal without the headache of having to sort through exploded groups and needing to inject new users into a live event.
Hi Jens,
Thank you for the feedback and describing the use case. I've heard of clients wanting to collapse the receipts after they've expanded them but this is a new one to me. We'll create a product enhancement for this request.
Hi Francois & Manpreet -
Thanks for your comments and questions. The ER Teams use xm dynamic teams as recipients, and in some cases the ER Team knows the dynamic team may be too widely inclusive and they want to drop some users before they initiate the emergency event. For example some users may be traveling abroad and should not be included. The ER Team could preview the recipients within the dynamic team screen but they still do not have access to revise the logic to exclude.
The ability to easily view and manipulate the individual recipients at the Message screen level is critical for BCM usability. Remember these are very infrequent users of xMatters and it has to be intuitive and work from a single screen as much as possible. It becomes a problem to send them to "Find Dynamic Team" search, open, preview, page through the results etc. They can't export the preview either. I find they would rather expand the group at the message shape and work through the list there and send.
Manpreet - re-collapsing the recipients make so much sense, but the same could be partially achieved with a "reset" and the user simply re-selects the group again. I would prefer to see the group expand as a tree, so you could remove individual recipients under the group and collapse from there.
This use-case is related to Allow-adding-additional-recipients-to-an-event-after-initiated.
best,

Hi Jens,
Absolutely, thanks for that! We've created PM-6020 as a product enhancement to have our Product Management team review this request and add it to our product roadmap when able. Feel free to add any follow-up questions you may have!
