Select All Users

I want to send a notification to every user in my OnDemand system. Is there a way to select "All Users"?

  • Hey Dan!
I'm guessing (stalling while I research) you are using a message panel? Are you using On Demand or an On Premise instance? This will help me make a more specific answer.
    Thanks!

  • Um, disregard... I can't apparently read... On Demand got it. Message panel though right?

  • Hey Dan, well, I was trying to get creative with the Dynamic Teams. I was thinking we could add a Custom Field and then build a dynamic team based on the value... i.e. a checkbox and any user with the checkbox checked or unchecked. Unfortunately, when you add this custom field, the value is null, neither true, nor false so that didn't work.
And apparently we don't allow wildcards in dynamic teams.
However, how many Sites do you have? If you only have a handful, you could make a dynamic team and in the Field drop down, select Site and add in your sites, just make sure you have the "Any" radio button selected.

  • Hmmm, or, if you have a lot of sites, if you can get them into a list in a text/excel file, then with some text editor search/replacing we could build an AddDynamicTeam SOAP message that would do this for us. Drop me an email and we can work offline.

  • Travis, great ideas, thanks for looking into it.

I think I figured it out, albeit its a bit kludgy.

I created a dynamic team consisting of anyone with an a, e, i, o, u or y in their last name. That's everyone.

If you find someone with only consonants in their last name, I'll be impressed.

  • Ha! Awesome. Great thinking. I'll give that a 10% kludgy rating... the sites route has probably a 9% kludgy rating, but a 400 pt effort rating.
