Can you suppress an event for being visible?

Hey Guys,

We have a form within a communication plan that when submitted run a script to generate further events. 1 of the forms triggered is a custom SMS (we have 3 pending on the status defined in the first form

1 of the events triggered is a custom SMS (we have 3 depending on the status defined in the first form) The issue is the event is visible on the web and in the app for a minute (lowest option on the form)

Although 1 minute is a short period of time, by nature if you receive an alert you go to it straight away resulting in a less than desirable user experience in the app. 

Is there a way we can mark the event as hidden from view without terminating it? (I did try to kill the event after creation in the same script but sadly it was too quick and failed to send to any recipients)
