Control Up Integration

Not Yet Reviewed

Hi all,

Has anyone successfully integrated ControlUp with xMatters?

ControlUp indicates that it supports an xMatters integration, but I don't see ControlUp listed as a preconfigured integration within xMatters. I'm interested in hearing how others have implemented it.

Specifically:

  • How are you triggering xMatters from ControlUp?
  • Are you using an API, webhook, script, or xMatters workflow trigger?
  • Did you have to build a custom xMatters workflow?
  • What ControlUp alert information are you passing into xMatters?
  • How are you handling authentication?
  • Is your integration one-way, or are acknowledgements/resolutions sent back to ControlUp?
  • Any limitations or lessons learned?
  • If possible, could you share a sample payload, script, or workflow configuration?

We're looking to use ControlUp alerts to trigger actionable xMatters notifications and would like to understand what has worked well for others.

Thanks in advance!

  • We don’t currently have a ControlUp integration listed in our catalog. The xMatters-related functionality described in ControlUp’s documentation was developed independently by ControlUp. It appears to use xMatters APIs to retrieve information about groups, users, devices, sites, and alerts, as well as our Trigger Event endpoint to start an alert.

You may be able to use ControlUp’s HTTP functionality to call a custom HTTP trigger and start a flow in Flow Designer. See ControlUp’s HTTP documentation.

We’ll add ControlUp to our list of potential integrations for future review.
