How to send repeat alerts to your mobile device

The Repeat Alerts feature available in our mobile apps is a great way to make sure that you never miss a critical notification. This feature allows you to repeat notifications sent to the mobile app up to ten times, at an interval of every one to ten minutes. You can also set a threshold priority level that a notification must meet to be repeated (for example, you can specify that only high priority messages are repeated).

This article provides instructions for how to enable the Repeat Alerts feature in the iOS and Android mobile apps.

To enable repeat alerts on the iOS mobile app:

  1. In the xMatters app menu, tap More.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Edit Settings.
  4. Tap Notification Settings.
  5. Tap Repeat Alerts.
  6. Tap the toggle to enable the feature.
  7. Tap Repeat to set the number of times the notification will be repeated after the original alert occurs (one, two, three, five, or ten times).
  8. Tap Interval to set the time between repetitions of the notification alert (one, two, three, five, or ten minutes).
  9. Tap Priority to set the minimum priority level that notifications must meet or exceed for the notification alert to be repeated (high, medium, or low).

To enable repeat alerts on the Android mobile app:

  1. In the xMatters app menu, tap Settings (the gear icon).
  2. Tap Notification Settings.
  3. Tap Repeating Alerts.
  4. Tap the toggle to enable the feature.
  5. Tap Repeat to set the number of times the notification will be repeated after the original alert occurs (one, two, three, five, or ten times).
  6. Tap Interval to set the time between repetitions of the notification alert (one, two, three, five, or ten minutes).
  7. Tap Priority to set the minimum priority level that notifications must meet or exceed for the notification alert to be repeated (high, medium, or low).

Note: Repeat notifications do not stop regular group escalations. Depending on the number and length of the repeat alert settings, group escalations may occur before a message finishes its repetition cycle.
