Can I receive an email when my Pentaho data synchronization process fails or completes?

You can add mail values to the file that will allow a recipient or distribution list to receive completion or failure messages from the Pentaho Data-Integration Transformation process.

To add an email address to the Pentaho configuration files:

  1. In your Pentaho system, open the Standard_Sync_Process\Sync Data folder (or Sync_Data, depending on the naming convention in your system).
  2. Open the file.
  3. Locate the following variables:
mail.sender =
mail.destination = 
mail.server = 
mail.port = 
mail.authentication.user =
mail.authentication.password =
  1. Fill in the appropriate values for the person or list you want to receive the email.
  2. Save and close the file.
