How does authentication work on inbound integrations configured in Integration Builder?

Answer

There are a few options available for authentication on an inbound integration:

• URL Authentication
• Basic Authentication
• API Key Authentication
• OAuth Authentication

You also have a setting for "Allow all methods", this permits any of the available authentication methods to trigger the integration. To use only one method, choose one of the available options listed above.

Note on copying integrations:

The authentication type is preserved when you copy an integration. When using API key authentication, the copy will have a different secret value.

If you import a communication plan with inbound integrations, the authentication type will automatically default to URL authentication.
