Caveats to converting a built-in workflow to a custom workflow

Is there anything that I need to consider if I decide to convert a built-in workflow into a custom workflow so I can modify it?

If there is an update to the built-in workflow template, such as bug fixes, code changes, additional form properties, etc., any workflows that you converted and customized won't receive the update.
