Inadvertently submitted email responses


During an event, email responses to notifications are inadvertently submitted on my behalf. This stops the event from generating any further notifications to the group, and sometimes closes the event and automatically assigns it to me. Why is this happening?


All versions of xMatters 


Your computer’s security software may be scanning your incoming emails and checking the links contained in them for threats. When you receive an xMatters notification and the software tests each link, it starts with the first response – typically “Accept”, “Acknowledge”, or “Assign to me” – which submits that response. 

We recommended that you unblock/allow the xMatters mail server to stop your security software from scanning xMatters notifications and inadvertently activating response links.

If this is not possible, you can configure email notifications to be sent via one-way subscription, which don’t include response links.

Another great solution is to download the xMatters mobile app. It's the easiest and most efficient way to receive xMatters notifications. You can search for xMatters in the Google Play store or the App Store on your device.
