Adding, modifying, and removing device types in xMatters

Is it possible to make changes to the device types in xMatters? For example, removing or renaming an existing device type?

Answer

For Advanced plan customers, users with the Company Supervisor role can manage their company's device types on the Device Management page.

xMatters supports the following device types for notifications:

• Apple mobile app
• Android mobile app
• Email
• Voice (phone)
• Text 
• Pager
• Fax
• Voice IVR (PA systems)

For customers using other plan types, you'll need to contact our Support team so they can assist you in making changes to your device types.

Note: If you're using xMatters Free, there are certain device types that cannot be modified.
