Events can't be found when searching Recent Events report

Question 

In the Recent Events view all I see is a list of older events, nothing recent at all even though I know there are newer ones being sent. Why is that?

Answer

When you look at the options for the Recent Events report there is a checkbox for Select from Archive. If you make sure that's not enabled it should show a list of currently running or recently ended events as you would expect.
