Checking available user licenses

Question

I want to create or sync new users but I'm not sure how many I'm allowed to have. Where can I see the number of remaining xMatters user licenses, and what happens if I reach the limit?

Answer

To see your current user license utilization (total number of user licenses, both activated and remaining), go to Admin > General Settings. The User Licenses section shows your licensed user count and how many licenses are currently in use.

What happens at or over the limit?

  • If you reach the maximum number of users for your system, you will not be able to add or sync new users.

  • Every user you create (including test or synthetic users) consumes a user license; there are no special non-licensed test roles.

  • Licensing is for a fixed number of users.

How to resolve user limit issues

  • Remove unused or inactive users to free up licenses, and then try adding or syncing users again.

  • If you need more capacity, contact your xMatters Account Manager or Customer Success Manager to purchase additional user licenses.
