We're now hard at work on our next quarterly release, Elemental, which will be rolling out in the June/July 2026 time frame.
Please follow this article and its comments to receive updates throughout the quarter about new features and functionality that we're working on for the Elemental release. We'll also use this document to capture highlights of additions and updates to our mobile platforms and the xMatters REST API.
For a list of changes made in each deployment that aren't covered in the Development Highlights, see the support notes included below each highlight. While most features will be added to production environments as part of our quarterly releases, the support notes typically describe fixes, which can sometimes affect product behavior.
Release schedule
Here are the dates we're expecting the release to be available:
- Non-production environment access: Tuesday, June 23, 2026
- Production environment access: Tuesday, July 21, 2026
Customers interested in previewing new features before they're released can opt into our Early Access Program (EAP), which delivers new features into non-production environments as they're rolled off the assembly line.
June 29 - July 3, 2026
Feature Spotlight on updating incident collaboration channels via playbooks
Collaboration channels are most effective when everyone has the latest incident information. When a playbook creates or links a Slack or Microsoft Teams channel to an incident, you can enable automated incident updates so the channel receives real-time information about incident changes. When enabled, xMatters posts changes such as incident status and severity directly to the collaboration channel, ensuring everyone is working from the same information without the need for manual updates.

ServiceNow Data Sync Group Enhancements
Organizations can now tailor how ServiceNow groups are created and managed in xMatters during synchronization. Administrators can control automatic default shift creation for synchronized on-call groups, including the default shift name and description, and map ServiceNow properties directly to xMatters group custom properties. This helps keep group membership in sync while preserving existing shift structure and reducing the need for manual updates after each sync.
ServiceNow Data Sync User Supervisor Mapping
ServiceNow Data Sync can now populate xMatters user supervisors from a ServiceNow user property, such as a manager field, helping keep supervisor relationships aligned with existing reporting structures. Administrators can also control how supervisor updates are applied during synchronization, including using default supervisors when the mapped value is missing or invalid, adding standard supervisors alongside the mapped supervisor, and choosing whether existing users should have supervisors overwritten, updated only when none exist, or assigned only when the user is first created.

Feature Spotlight on user schedule views
Whether you're preparing for an upcoming shift or checking that your time off is covered, the user schedule provides flexible ways to view your schedule and absences. The Day, Week, and Month views let you choose the level of detail that best fits your needs, whether you want a granular hour-by-hour schedule, detailed shift information for the week ahead, or a high-level overview of upcoming shifts across the month.
Managing absences is simple with absences displayed directly in the List view, including whether you have a scheduled replacement. Together, these views give you a clear view of your schedule and help you quickly confirm upcoming shifts, any absences, and if someone is covering you while you're away.

Feature Spotlight on adding impacted services from the dependency view
The service dependency map helps incident commanders understand how applications and services are connected during an incident. You can add impacted services directly from the service dependency map, making it easier to keep the list of impacted services up to date and identify areas to investigate without leaving the map view.
The dependencies map shows you which services are impacted so you can investigate whether any other services are affected or have had recent changes, identify potential root causes, and run automations for impacted services.

Feature Spotlight on customizable stakeholder updates
Keeping stakeholders informed during an incident is crucial, but constant update requests can distract responders while they work to resolve the issue. By using the Stakeholder Update trigger in Flow Designer, you can tailor stakeholder updates to suit your organization’s needs with branded message formats and communications that stakeholders are already familiar with. You can also prompt incident commanders for additional context using a Flow Trigger Form, send different updates to different stakeholder groups, override stakeholder recipient lists, or customize messages for different device types (such as SMS or voice).
May 11 - 15, 2026
Feature Spotlight on ServiceNow Incident Sync
You can now use the ServiceNow Incident Sync to keep incidents aligned between xMatters and ServiceNow throughout the resolution process. When configured through a Flow Designer step, updates made in the xMatters Incident Console, such as changes to the incident summary, description, status, severity, or timeline, are automatically synchronized with the related ServiceNow incident.

Feature Spotlight on the Triggers Report
As your integrations and signals into xMatters grow, it can become difficult to track down a specific trigger, especially when you have many active workflows or when the trigger was created by someone else. The Triggers Report provides a centralized view of the triggers in your system so you can quickly find and review the information you need.
The page lets you see all scheduled and HTTP triggers across your system, along with details such as the workflow each trigger belongs to, its current status, the last execution time and status, the next scheduled execution, and a direct link to the trigger in Flow Designer.

About the early access delivery process
Customers can choose to opt their non-production environments into an Early Access Program (EAP) to see new functionality before it's released. If you're considering signing up for the early access program, there are a couple of important things to know:
- Enrollment in EAP can be turned on any time through a support request.
- Exiting EAP can only be done on quarterly boundaries (you cannot opt in and out between quarterly releases).
For full details, refer to the official xMatters Deployment Process & Early Access article.
