If there is no response to an event, how long before the event is terminated?

  • If the Expiration is set to a small time, will we still be able to collect responses. For example a check in message, but we want to have the "red dot" notification on the app go away once responded, or still collect responses for a time after the event expires. Think a polling type check in. Did you receive this message (Response collected, expire the event for that person). Any thoughts on how to configure?

  • I'm not sure exactly what you are trying to achieve, or why you chose to post this on a thread that is several months old and about a different, but related, question.

I could only for sure pull two things out of your post 1) is the statement/question that you want to collect responses for at time after the event expires. This seems like a misunderstanding of what the expiration time is - if you want to continue to collect responses then you want the event to be active; when you set it to expire you are essentially telling xMatters that is the time you no longer care about/want to collect responses. 2) is that you want the "red dot" notification on the app to go away once responded, sounds like the response action is what you are interested in here and just need to set it according to what you want to happen for the who on that red dot going away.

My suggestion would be to collect/define the requirements for the workflow you want, review the available response actions (https://help.xmatters.com/ondemand/xmodwelcome/communicationplanbuilder/formdetailsresponsesoptions.htm), then start a new thread with the question on how to achieve in xMatters.
