When one of our users (employee 1) adds an absence to cover an on-call shift they cannot work, 9 times out of 10 that employee will return the favor and cover a different shift for that second employee (employee 2). Has xMatters looked into a "Shift Swap" feature that could be built into the Add Absence menu? Ideally it would look into the future on-call schedule of "employee 2" and allow employee 1 to select a shift to swap. I have even seen functionality in other platforms that gives the shift swap acceptance back to employee 2 with an "accept or reject" feature.

I also think this would be a good idea and am curious if this enhancement has already been captured or not
Thanks for that idea Mark!
We do in fact have a product enhancement logged (PM-4806 as a reference) and I have added both your companies to the interested parties list.
Note that this can currently be achieved by user A making a temporary replacement with user B, then user B making a different temporary replacement with user A. As long as it's not during the same time it should work effectively like a shift swap feature.
Out of curiosity, are there specifics you want to see? For example how will one specify which shift to swap with the other person? Will the next shift for person B be assumed? Are approvals by the group supervisor a factor? Anything else one would need (reporting?) with this feature?
Happy Wednesday!
Specifics would include visibility upcoming shifts for Person B. If I am asking Person B to cover a day of my on-call next week, perhaps I could see that they are on call the fourth week of March and again on the last week of April and could select a day in those futures shifts to swap with. I don't see that it should include supervisor approval, just acceptance by Person B and an email to both users and supervisor to make everyone aware of the swap.
Thanks Mark! I made sure to add that feedback to the enhancement.
Happy Wednesday!
Swaps are very common for our team as well and usually involve replacement / swap for an entire shift vs. a single day.
