Rotation with a shift member who needs to skip every other rotation

Not Yet Reviewed

I have a need to set up the following rotation....  5 members, 2 week rotations, but one of the 5 members (because he has additional support responsibilities, is exempt from the rotation every other time.

So it should look something like this (note that Employee B is only in the rotation every other time):

  • Employee A
  • Employee B * (special case employee)
  • Employee C
  • Employee D
  • Employee E
  • Employee A
  • Employee C
  • Employee D
  • Employee E
  • Employee A
  • Employee B * (special case employee)
  • Employee C
  • Employee D
  • Employee E

I'm not sure how to set something like this up in xMatters, and I haven't found something like this in the docs or community thus far.  I'm likely being a dummy, but haven't figured out how to do this.  Thoughts?

  • Rather than a 5 person rotation, where your shift might look like this:

    A

    B

    C

    D

    E

It sounds more like you have a 9 person rotation, where most members repeat. So your shift might look like this:

    A

    B

    C

    D

    E

    A

    C

    D

    E

Any issues with turning on the Allow Duplicates setting for the group and setting it up with 9 members in the shift?

  • Thanks.  I'm a newb with this system, and hadn't found the 'Allow Duplicates' setting yet.  That seems like it would work.  Thanks for your help

  • It is on the Overview Tab of each group, in the bottom left corner under Advanced Options / NOTIFICATION BEHAVIOR
