  • Hey Chad,

Great question. I'm the Product Manager for our mobile apps so Android/iOS feature parity has definitely been on my mind!

I'll start with a bit of background: Over the past year, our Android team has been focused on building out our On-Call Reminders service to ensure end-users get their shift reminders. Now that we've released that service, our team is getting back into Android features so you'll be seeing more love soon. For example, over the next couple of months, keep an eye out for Monthly and Weekly View, and Temporary Absences.

In the medium term, we'll keep marching towards Android/iOS feature parity, taking down features in priority order - so let us know which features you'd most like to see!

    Thanks,

  • Which iOS features is Android missing? If I knew, I might be able to comment on their priority.

  • The ability to check and see upcoming and coming schedules via calendar view.  Being able to see what other team member is on call.    Being able to add add temporary absence.

    Thanks,

    Chad

  • Thanks @Chad,

I can tell you that all 3 of those features are on deck for us. The Monthly and Weekly Calendar view is expected to go live later this month, and we're doing our best to bring you the ability to add a temporary absence by the end of the year. Early next year you'll be able to tap on any shift you're in or that you supervise and see who's on call as well. Stay tuned as we will have even more coming soon.

@Michael, we have a number of features on the iPhone app that will make their way to Android including the ones above. Also planned for 2020 are things like using your fingerprint or face to replace passcodes (depending on your device), as well as better event management like being able to duplicate, terminate, suspend and resume events.

Thanks for your interest! Let us know if you have other feature requests you'd like to see that you feel are missing.

  • @Kit Brown-Wats,  I see that calendar view and temporary absences have been included in the Android version. Are you able to provide an update on when Android will be able to view schedule details.

  • Hi @Joseph, I certainly can. Our team is actively working on this feature right now and we're hoping to have it ready for our next release around mid- to late-May. There will be a handful of other useful features in this release as well, so please stay tuned.

As always, if you have any other features you'd like to see, please let us know.

    Cheers,

The Android team has just released the latest version of the app which contains:

    • The ability to tap a shift in My Schedule to see who's on call
    • The ability to Suspend, Resume and Terminate Events
    • Biometric passcode login
    • Viewing Comments

Please go ahead and update your app now to start using these features!
