UI Outages?

Not Yet Reviewed

This has happened twice within the last month. Has anyone else experienced issues with Internet Explorer accessing xMatters UI? This happened tonight starting about 5PM but only IE was affected. Chrome seemed to work fine.

  • Hey Shawn! When we do the releases, twice a month, there's a chance you'll get disconnected, but that should happen across all browsers. I've found it to be a "blip" and you just get kicked out, then you can jump right back in. So you may have been kicked out on IE, then tried chrome and been fine?

What version of IE are you using?

Any idea what days this happened?

We are working hard to rearchitect things to avoid this disconnection when making the releases, but it is a non trivial effort and is consuming a lot of engineering cycles as we speak. I feel the pain as well.

    Happy Tuesday!

  • The latest occurrence was yesterday at around 5PM central. This wasn't a matter of being kicked out and needing to log back in. When the issue was reported, we had two different people reproduce the issue with IE and then immediately try Chrome and successfully logged in. Went back to IE and continued to see the "Page Cannot Be Displayed" error message. We run IE 11.

  • Huh. That's interesting. IE11 is definitely supported. If it happens again, can you grab a screen shot and any browser errors seen in the console, note the time and open a ticket to support? That seems like it shouldn't happen.

  • Shawn,

You may also want to hold down the control key, and then press the F5 key, this will reload the page. IE tends to cache everything to make pages load faster, but if it caches something bad, it gets stuck on it, so Control F5 usually clears it up.
