Text in Subject on Apple's iOS Mail client "jumping"

Not Yet Reviewed

Hi there

We have created a new comms plan, but have found that when we send the emails, if you open them in the Mail client on an iOS (iPhone 6, latest version of software), the subject will display with a line break at a random.

Most of the time, the line break corrects after a second or two, and the text jumps back up to the right place.

Occasionally the line break stays in place, and can even be seen in the Gmail app.

Do you know why this might happen?

Best wishes

Adam

  • Huh, that sounds weird. Is it something you can capture a screen shot or a video with another phone?

  • Wow. Yea, not pretty. Can you send a screen shot of the subject of the email message template? That is gmail rendering so unless we have some extra or funky characters or something, I don't know what in xMatters would cause that to happen.

Does it happen with a shorter subject? I.e. if you just have "Technology Issue Discovered - Service Disruption" without any event properties in there?

Does it happen on all emails from xMatters (if you get any others...)
