Integration with HP Service Manager 4

HP Service Manager will be upgraded from v9.3.4 to v9.4 in a few months. Will the current xMatters integration agent work well with Service Manager 9.4? Has anyone experienced problems integrating xMatters v5.x with Service Manager 9.4?

  • Hi Ram,
    Are you using xMatters on premise, or on demand? The HP SM integration for 9.3.4 was built against on premise and because it uses the new Communication Plans, won't be compatible with an on premise xMatters instance. And it looks like we haven't done the validation against HP SM 9.4 yet, but I'll go ahead and submit an enhancement request to get it checked out.

    I haven't heard of anyone using 9.4 yet, but people tend to be more vocal when things don't work and I haven't heard of any problems either.

    What I can say is that unless HP have made any changes to their Product or API in the jump from 9.3.4 to 9.4 that are not backward compatible there should not be any reason why the integration wouldn't work.

    Are you planning to migrate the integration from 9.3.4 to 9.4 yourself or will you be getting help from xMatters Professional Services?
