Integration with xMatters and HP ITSM - Re-queue Notifications

Not Yet Reviewed

Hello,

We will have an 10 minute outage coming up, and there's concern with what will happen with HP IT Service Manager.

When a notification is submitted, it does throw an error that it can't connect to xMatters (which we expect). When xM comes back up, is there a way for ITSM to re-submit those failed notifications.

  • How do you have these integrated? If you're using the Integration Agent, it will queue events and then send them once the system comes back up. If you're creating Events directly to the xMatters Web Server via Web Services you'd have to build a message queue mechanism in that code.

  • Hello,

Thanks for the response. We are using the Integration Agent, but the messages don't queue. Do we need to stop the Integration Agent service when we stop xMatters? This is an On-Premise install if that makes a difference.

  • I say this, because with the integration agent on, and xMatters being down, we do not see that behavior. It fails to inject and does not queue.
