Is anyone aware of a way to automatically notify a user when they become the primary contact for a group rotation? In other words, I would like a notification delivered whenever I am the primary on-call.

As i'm sure our user's will ask us once they have this available to them via the mobile app, when will these settings be available through the web UI?
I don't need or expect an answer right now, just something you'll probably want to prepare an answer for when this gets released.
Thanks Sean! Yes, we'll need to communicate that this is only available in the mobile first, and we'll bring in support for the WebUI as a follow up.

Hi Danny! Yes, we are still expecting the feature to be released in February 2019. The mobile app UI is completed and we're finishing off the last bit of backend services. We're looking good to bring it in for February.

I'll also take this opportunity to give a quick update on some minor changes we made to the mobile designs I had posted on Sept 10.
We have decided to limit the number of reminders from 3 to 1, to reduce and manage the overall volume of reminders we expect to process.
We also removed the option to select a SMS device to receive the reminder but user will still be able to select to receive reminders via mobile notification and/or email.
These changes will help to simplify the overall feature and we will evaluate adding this functionality in a future release.
Let me know if you have any feedback for the changes.

Hi Erik! Your timing is great! I was holding off making comment on this thread until the feature was turned ON, but I'm happy to say that the On-Call Reminder feature will be enabled on February 12th!
Check out the Defender Release Overview for all the features that are included in this release, including On-Call Reminders.
Ensure you have the latest version of the iOS or Android xMatters mobile app installed on your devices so that you're ready to go and configure your shift reminders.
We'll be publishing an article specifically for the On-Call Reminder feature as well, and will post a link when it's available.
PS: We appreciate everyone's patience as we worked on getting this feature released. It's finally here!

What are you trying to discover via the web UI? Are you wanting to get an xMatters notification to all devices but configure or manage this via the web UI? I will let the Product Management team know you are looking at this feature for the web UI, if you can expand on what you are looking for though I can see if there is a way for users to get what they need outside of the app.
The user's schedule is available in the user profile already which is how to look at it via the web UI, and combined with the Who's On Call feature one can potentially get the on-call shifts for the x next rotations/weeks/months.
Let us know on the above and we'll provide a better answer accordingly.

I can't speak for Rahul, but for our users I can say that we have some folks that don't use the mobile app but would still like to take advantage of on-call reminder feature. Since they aren't using the mobile app, this would mean getting just the email reminder. In order to do this they'd need to be able to access the on-call reminder feature from the web UI though.

As it stands we don't have any changes planned to allow configuration of on-call reminders via the web UI in the very near future. With that said the discussion on doing this is continuing internally and we're evaluating a few aspects to see what this would look like.
I will give some room for an official word from Product Management, I did feel it fair to let everyone know that this is going to be something more long term we can look at.
