Users, groups, and dynamic teams must have unique names

Question 

When I try to add a new user, I get the following error:

This name is already in use. All users, groups, and dynamic teams must have unique names.

Can I add a new user with the same name as an existing user?

Answer

Yes, you can add a new user with the same first or last name, however, all users must have a unique User ID.

If you are receiving this error message, check that the User ID does not match that of an existing user, or the name of a group or dynamic team.
