I am hoping all is fine. Considering my lack of experience with xmatters; I am excited about its potential to improve our communication and issue management processes. I have spent time researching the various features and connections that xMatters presents; and I am very excited to develop some particular integrations to better meet our unique needs.
Jira is used for tickets; Riemann is used for monitoring; and Discord is used for team communications. Our organisation employs a combination of these platforms for ticketing and communication. Whereas I am aware that xmatters comes with predefined connectors for these programs, we also wish to include some special workflows and data points in our emergency response procedures.
- Which are the best methods to take while creating unique xMatters connections? Do you have any particular suggestions for standards and resources to make sure these connections are stable and recyclable?
- Even after reading the xmatters rest API documentation; I am not quite sure how to use it. Is it possible for someone to offer a detailed tutorial and sample of how to use the API to put up a simple integration? Specifically; I would like to know how to set off xmatters events in proteus under certain conditions and then create jira tickets in response.
- One of the difficulties we are having is structuring the data from mercury alerts such that it can be used for Jira tickets and xmatters notifications. Is transforming data something that can be done within xmatters using any tools or methods; or should it be done outside of xmatters before submitting data to the platform?
- What techniques do you employ when creating and managing individual integrations for error handling and troubleshooting? Any advice on how to keep an eye on these integrations' performance and overall health over time?
- Do developers offer their unique connection programs and solutions on any community driven platforms; such forums; Chat channels; and GitHub repositories? I would adore seeing instances and absorb knowledge from other people's experiences.
